Converted to a yawl, and then a schooner in 1926. Mystic Seaport owned her for a time, under the proviso that when the donor died, the boat would be scuttled. Respecting the arrangement, the boat was filled with concrete and sunk in 1967. Howard Dean, a shipwright at Mystic for 50 years, still has one of the cleats. Some of the components were saved prior to scuttling and they were used as patterns for the MPG restoration of SPARTAN.
